Sure, he
could
be taking her off to feed her to some monster or sacrificing her to a cult or something awful.
But she still has her powers (though she doesn't realize they're weaker yet), so she could totally take him.
So she clambers onto his back with the ease of a kid who still gets regular piggyback rides. "Okay, I'm ready!"
